There are a lot of similar build-your-own type games out there currently. FarmVille may not have been the first, but it certainly seems to be one of the most popular among Facebook users.
Much like these other apps, purchasing animals, supplies, and buildings on FarmVille is the best way to ensure you obtain both visitors and growth for your little farm. The goal is to build the largest farm possible that grows the most crops and attracts the most visitors in the shortest amount of time.
Your farm flourishes when you grow crops and breed your animals. The most important thing to do, then, is to plant your crops and purchase enough animals to breed them. Breeding is limited to specified time periods and will give you experience points every time you do it. You move through FarmVille's many levels the faster you get more experience points.
You can also purchase extra currency via credit card, much like other apps of its genre. In addition, if you think FarmVille is worth a share, the app allows you to connect with friends on Facebook to notify them of how your farm is progressing as well.
Unfortunately, FarmVille's touch pad controls are a little difficult to work with since some of the objects you're trying to move are so small. Additionally, the FarmVille app sometimes crashes due to bugs that still need to be worked out.
Overall, FarmVille presents a fun escape from reality, if you can tolerate the occasional program crash.
